DVD not showing up in my computer and it has ! in device manager? The solution that I have used has saved me time and time again reinstalling a PC from scratch.
Follow the instructions below:
1. Click Start, Run "REGEDIT"
2. Find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class entry
3. Under "class" entry, double click {4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
4. Right hand pane, click once to select the UpperFilters entry
5. Make sure only the UpperFilters entry is highlighted then delete
6. Do the same for the LowerFilters entry
7. Close the registry editor
