Ever wanted to insert a logo into your Signature? This applies to signatures in Outlook 2003:
Outlook 2003 allows you to setup footers to your emails, called signatures. You can setup several signatures for different purposes. You can have an automatic signature for replies and forwards, and a signature for new. I recommend a shorter signature for replies.
How to create a signature with logos:
- Microsoft Office Word 2003 must be set as your e-mail editor to send signatures with your logo attached.
- From the main Outlook menu, select Tools, then choose Options, and then click the Mail Format tab.
- Under Message format, in the Compose in this message format list, click the Use Microsoft Word 2003 to edit mail message.
- Under Signature, click Signatures, and click New.
- In the Enter a name for your new signature box, type a name. I use Default for my normal signature, and Replies for my replying / forwarding signature.
- Under Choose how to create your signature, select the option you want.
- Click Next.
- Click Advanced Edit.
- Click Yes when a dialog box appears telling you that an editor not part of Microsoft Office Outlook will start.
- Create your signature. Insert a picture or logo into your signature, the choosing the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
- Make sure that you use SHIFT+ENTER at the end of each line of text instead of ENTER. Otherwise, Outlook inserts your signature so that the recipient sees your signature in double-spaced format.
- Exit the editor, making sure that you save your changes.
- Click OK to finish editing the new signature.
- Yyou can now insert the signature into messages.
- By default, when you use the Advanced Edit option, a copy of any picture is included in the signature. The signature is located in C:\Documents and Settings\%Username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures.
- Company wide rollout. Setup a standard set of signatures and copy the signature folders and files into each users directory. Each user can then edit their personal details into the signature from within Outlook. You can maintain a professional look to all company emails with out shelling out for an additional product to do this for you.
