HP Computer Hardware Disposal - Home User (non business)
Hewlett Packard (HP) has been BrightCity's recommended hardware manufacturer of choice now for several years. Many of our home based customers use their screens, laptops and PCs. What follows is some information based on the UK law "WEEE" that came in being January 2nd 2007 and will go live 1st July 2007.
Regulations dictate that all home users should recycle their HP computer products. Home users should deliver their products to the local authority's collection points. Home users should contact your local council for information on where there are located.
From here, HP will eventually receive the products through it's recognised channels and recycle. HP has always been recycling it's hardware, indeed it started doing so in 1987. HP's WEEE registration number is WEE/EJ0076US.
HP is registered as a manufacturer under the United Kingdom Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2007.
HP business customers (commercial) have to follow a different guideline. The local authority will charge or not recycle commercial waste.
